All money raised will go towards the next stage of our campaign to secure affordable houses and workspace on the Phoenix Estate. More details at http://lewesphoenixrising.com/pelham-house-auction/
Santon/LDC planning app: please continue to send in your comments/objections via the SDNPA website http://planningpublicaccess.southdowns.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=NKS96QTU02B00
or by emailing email@example.com ref ‘North Street’.
To see those submitted so far, scroll all the way to the bottom of the 800 or so ‘documents’ submitted by Santon – they are at the very end. Lots of them!
We would like to remind you that the LPR Masterplan has 48 homes at social rents and substantial workspace in the renovated buildings of the Phoenix Ironworks, in addition to the 400 homes required by policy. We are not saying NO to development, we are saying YES, but let’s do it brilliantly!
It is a complex equation of cross subsidy, innovative affordable build and community involvement that can be resolved if Santon and LDC will work with us. That way there is profit for the developer, value for land for the Council, genuine benefit for Lewes and a scheme of which the National Park can be proud.
And Finally …
We would like to thank Norman Baker for his unstinting support and wish him well in the future. We have asked Maria Caulfield MP for a meeting and look forward to working with her.
