Two exciting artist initiatives start today, with a percentage of sales proceeds going towards Lewes Phoenix Rising’s work to help save and grow the unique hub of creative industries on the Phoenix Estate.
Works for sale by Alinah Azadeh
Internationally-renowned artist Alinah Azadeh, who is based on the Phoenix Estate and exhibits work all over the world, is offering a rare opportunity to buy one of thirteen of her new, small paintings directly, with a percentage going to Lewes Phoenix Rising (rather than a gallery) and to raise awareness of the LPR campaign.
Azadeh’s sculpture and installation works have all been made at her space in Pop-Up Studios. They recently included two pieces for a Banner exhibition at Westminster Hall to mark the Magna Carta Anniversary programme and preparations for a national Museums at Night event at Freud Museum London on 30th October 2015. She will also be screening two films as part of A Moveable Feast – see below.
Details of the 13 works for sale for a limited time can be seen here.
A Moveable Feast at the Foundry Gallery
A new exhibition of 12 local women painters and photographers is opening this weekend at the wonderful Foundry Gallery in the heart of the Phoenix Estate, Lewes, with some artists contributing a percentage of proceeds to Lewes Phoenix Rising.
The preview of ‘A Moveable Feast’ is on Friday, 2nd October from 6.30pm, with bar, canapés and music – everyone is warmly welcome!
On Saturday, 3rd October from 1:30pm there will be performances of music, poetry and readings plus a fashion show. The exhibition and events continue all week. An unmissable event in Lewes’ unique cultural and creative hub. For more information go to:
